My name is Greg Burdine and I am the senior pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Adrian, Michigan (since 1994).
This is my personal blog. It is focused on topics that relate to my pastoral ministry. As a pastor, I am involved people’s lives as they try to live out their faith in the real world. Sometimes that’s difficult. So, I’m often called on to bring some spiritual guidance into a stormy situation. Hence, the name of my blog – Stepping Stones.
The articles you will find here deal with various issues and topics. Some are very serious – What Happens When You Die?. Some are funny and entertaining – Don’t Mess with Grandpa. Some offer practical advice – Decisions, Decisions?. And some find their root in a Biblical passage – 4 Things Real Faith Does – or in a Current Issue – Miley Cyrus – Sexuality & Modesty. And a few are personal – Lessons from my First Marathon.
I hope you will subscribe to my blog and help me write articles that you find interesting. If you don’t agree with me, let me know. I love to be challenged. I’ve been wrong a time or two (or so my wife tells me). If you have comments, please share them. Maybe it will help someone who needs some guidance. If you have a topic or question, contact me.
Here’s a little more about me. I have been married to Judy, a preschool teacher in Tecumseh, since 1981. We have four children. Jennifer and her husband, Grant Felbaum, live outside Columbus, Ohio. They have two daughters, Savannah and Aubrey. Joshua and his wife, Haley, live in Manitou Beach, Michigan. They have three sons, Henry, James and Boone. Jill and her husband, Christopher Henderson live north of Dayton, Ohio and have children Ellie & Evan. Justin and his wife, Shayna, live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have one daughter, Esther.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and my Master’s degree and Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana. I have been in full-time ministry since 1982, serving churches in Iowa, Ohio and Michigan. Though a Buckeye fan, I am learning to cheer for the Michigan teams!
