I preach every Sunday at Grand Court Retirement Home. About 10 years ago I was asked, and outside of a few months, I’ve been doing it ever since. I love it & them! There’s nothing like preaching to old people.
A couple months ago I mentioned that the older I get, the more time seems to fly by. One old man said, “It’s not that time is going faster, you’re just going slower.” So True!
Well, this past Sunday I saw an article on the piano at Grand Court. It was entitled “You know you’re getting older when… ” So today, I thought I’d share it with you. We’re all getting older (no one stays the same), but this adds a little humor to the journey.
You Know You’re Getting Older When…
…the little old lady you help across the street is your wife
…your children begin to look middle aged.
…you find a person attractive because they can get three cups of tea from the same tea bag.
…you can remember what you did yesterday by what hurts today.
…you feel your corns more than your oats.
…your actions creak louder than words.
…your eyes are still perfect but your friends are getting blurry.
…you remember when you needed help to carry home $5 worth of groceries.
…your get up and go gets up and goes.
…you bend down to tie your shoes and look around to see if there’s anything else to do while you’re down there’re.
…your kids and your clothes s are the same age.
…you have to take a nap before going to bed.
…you sit in a rocking chair and can’t get it going.
Any other signs of age you want to share?
